How to De-Stress Your Life
Stress is a fact of life that no one can get away from. No matter how much you try, you can’t prevent your two-year-old from throwing a fit in the middle of the grocery store, adulting, or dealing with people who make you want to go crazy at work. However, you can take steps to de-stress your life. Here’s how.
Incorporate an Exercise Routine
Exercise is a natural stress reliever. It increases serotonin in your body which is the hormone that makes you feel happy. When your serotonin levels are up, your stress is down. Exercise also decreases your cortisol levels which are the main hormone that causes stress.
Learn to Say No
Sometimes, extra stress stems from the fact that we can’t say no. You don’t have to take on a class at church, offer to be the mom who picks up and drops off all the kids from baseball practice or take on more than you already do. If you have a lot on your plate, don’t take on any more.
Get Toxic People Out of Your Life
You may not even realize you have a toxic person in your life. If you have a friend or family member who is always needing you, causing drama, or making life stressful for you, let that person go. You don’t have to completely rid them from your life, but maybe try to limit your time with them.
Use Rescue Products
When there is no way around the stress, I rely on Rescue products to get me through. From stress relief to sleep aids, Rescue products are key to keeping my life stress free. Here are the three products that have made my life easier:
- Rescue Plus Sleep Melatonin: The stresses of life tend to keep me up at night. As I toss and turn thinking about what I could have done, should have done, or what is going to happen, I become more stressed and I get less sleep. Melatonin is a natural hormone that your body produces as it gets dark. However, stress can prevent your body from producing the melatonin you need to get a good night’s sleep. Rescue Plus Sleep Melatonin calms me and puts me to sleep like a baby.
- Rescue Remedy Spray: In the midst of traffic, or in a stressful situation, you can’t always find a way to get rid of the stress. When I start getting stressed, I spray a little Rescue Remedy Spray in my mouth and it works wonders. The combination of stress-relieving flower essences which include: rock rose, clematis, impatiens, cherry plum, star of Bethlehem instantly calm me.
- Rescue Pastilles: Rescue Pastilles are especially useful to me during days full of stressful situations. I simply chew one of these delicious chewable tablets and the tension I felt begins to lift.
