My family and I have spent an amazing week enjoying the brand new 2014 Kia Sorento EX AWD vehicle in wave blue and I must say I fell in love. If you are looking for an SUV that is affordable with a sense of luxury and style the 2014 Kia Sorento may just be the car for you and your family. Being the mom of 3 little ones, safety is a huge concern of mine, and I was put at ease when I found out the Sorento was rated top safety pick of 2013. The Sorento features 5 seats with the option of adding a third row for a total of 7 seats. The seats offer plenty of leg and head room, both in the front and back. The backseat fits 2 carseats comfortably, 3 in a pinch. If you use 3 carseats consistently I would recommend getting the third row seating option for much more room! This car was such a hit I had friends, family members and neighbors wanting to see the newest Kia Sorento and falling in love as much as I did.

Keyless Entry: I’m the mom of 3 little ones and having keyless entry was a huge lifesaver. I was able to juggle my daughter’s infant carseat while holding my sons hand and was able to get into the car without even reaching into my purse for the keys.

Heated and cooling seats: Oh boy! The Kia Sorento not only had heated leather seats but cooling seats as well. This is a perfect combination for any mom on the go and I was able to enjoy my heated seats in the morning on my drive to work, and enjoyed my cooling seats on the way home from work. Talk about relaxing!

Rear view camera with backup assist: The rear view camera was the perfect addition to this Kia Sorento, as you know anytime you have kids in the car it can be a chaotic and crazy situation. The rear view camera with backup assist allows you to carefully backup and be alerted if anything or anyone is in your way.

Panoramic sunroof with power sunshade: I live so close to the beach that having the panoramic sunroof was such a great extra for my kids and I! While we cruised down Pacific Coast Highway we were able to look up and enjoy not only the beach but the clear blue skies! My son kept saying, “Mommy, I can see the sky!”

Storage 1

Storage Space: Grocery shopping is a breeze with the storage space offered. With the 2nd row seats laid down you can get a full 72.5 cu ft of storage space; enough for my husbands over-sized hockey bag and sticks! There is also hidden storage compartments that can be easily accessible to keep your groceries or other items from sliding all over the place on your drive home. There is nothing worse then pulling into your driveway and realizing all your groceries fell over, with the cargo spacing this will never be an issue again.

Seat Positioning 1

Power liftgate: The power liftgate is so handy to have. While juggling my kids once again I was able to hold down a button and open the rear hatch allowing me to put my kids into the car and getting my stroller in the back with ease. No more setting everything down just to push a button and lift up the hatch.

Blind Spot Detection: Have you ever driven on the freeway and tried to get over but didn’t realize there was a car in your “blind” spot? With Blind spot detection you will be alerted by a bright orange light on your mirrors along with a beep letting you know there is a car in your blind spot, you may proceed to get over as soon as this light disappears. What a great feature to have.

UVO App: The UVO app is a free download for your iphone/android smart phone and allows you to “pin” your car when you parked at a shopping mall, sporting event or anywhere else. I don’t know how many times I forgot where I parked my car after coming out of a hockey game. I was able to load the UVO app in seconds and find exactly where my car was. This is a great safety feature.

Built in Sunshades: The Kia Sorento was equipped with built in retractable sunshades which are perfect when you have kids in the backseats! I grew tired of having to suction cup sunshades to the back windows to protect my kids from the sun. These sunshades are easily clipped into place or hidden when not needed.

Backseat Spacing: The backseat allows two full size carseats to fit comfortably and when there are no car seats you can enjoy 60/40 split plus reclining seats. What a nice perk and perfect for long road trips!

The Kia Sorento is the perfect family car with so many additional options you can’t go wrong. The 2014 Kia Sorento EX AWD that I drove has a MSRP of $35,265. I truly fell in love with the Sorento and this car will be missed.

I was not compensated for this post. I was given a Kia Sorento for 1 week to drive to facilitate this review.
