DIY Sweet Magnolia Body Scrub

To me the Holidays are all about giving and it doesn’t matter how much money you spend it’s truly the thought that counts. Homemade gifts like this DIY Sweet Magnolia Body Scrub let the recipient know you took the time to make them something which is much more meaningful than a store bought gift.

I have so many people to buy for every year and I love making homemade gifts that will mean the world to my recipients. This year I ventured out to make my very own Body Scrub. I love that this was such a cost effective gift idea and was so easy to make. I made a total of 4 Sweet Magnolia scented Body Scrubs and than made some other scents as well. The consistency of my Body Scrub is perfect for exfoliating and isn’t overly rough. There’s still time to make those last minute homemade gifts or this would make an excellent gift for a birthday as well. Enjoy this tutorial.

Products Used:

1/4 Cup Organic Coconut Oil

1/2 Cup Sugar

1 Drop Yellow Food Coloring

3 Drops Sweet Magnolia Essential Oil

1 Medium Size Mixing Bowl

1/2 Pint Wide mouth Mason Jars

Directions:

My first step was to turn my coconut oil was solid to liquid using my microwave. I spooned in a total of 1/4 cup Coconut Oil into a microwave safe bowl and placed in the microwave for 40 seconds. Once I removed I gave it a quick stir and set aside. Now pour your 1/2 cup of sugar into the bottom of your medium mixing bowl and pour the hot coconut oil right over it. Using a spoon start stirring up the sugar and oil until you have a body scrub consistency. Once I got the results I was looking for I added in just 1 drop of yellow food coloring and gave it a good stir once again. To finish up my scrub I placed 3 drops of Sweet Magnolia essential oil and gave it a quick stir. Immediately after stirring it up I placed them in airtight 1/2 Pint Mason Jars and set them aside. These are the perfect gifts for any occasion. You can easily dress up these mason jars even more with a pretty twine bow or a sticker label on the top. Enjoy.
