I am a true lover of anything from Anthropologie. Their products are amazing and they selling everything from clothing to houseware but there is just one little problem. Their pricing is SO high that my little budget just can’t afford to splurge on the high end items. So what do I do? I take those high end items and recreate them myself which only cost under $5 generally. Have I sold you on the idea of recreating yet? I fell in LOVE with this 4 piece set of Champagne Bubbles Highball Glasses but they retailed for $58! Really?
So I headed to my local Dollar Tree and picked up 4 Highball Glasses for a total of $4. Grab a bottle of Martha Stewart Acrylic Paint for just $0.99 and headed to my workstation to recreate these glasses. My total project cost me a total of $4.99 for a set of 4 high end glasses. Sure they don’t look exactly the same but I put my own spin on it and made it to my liking. I hope you enjoy these knock off recreates and keep coming back to see more of my ideas!
Supplies:
Highball Glasses (Clear)
Acrylic Paint or Glass Paint - I used Martha Stewart Acrylic Craft Paint in Florentine Gold
Pencil / Dotting Tool
Instructions:
Take your highball glasses one at a time and place them on a magazine or protective paper.
This project is meant to be fun and allow you to go dot crazy. Using the eraser on the pencil dip that into your gold paint and start strategically dotting your glass in any pattern you want.
After I put about 100 dots using a pencil I went through with a dotting tool and added tons of medium and little size dots to give it more dot effects.
I didn’t want to overdo it with the dots and I LOVE how my glasses turned out. Their definitely going to be a hit at our new friendly gathering.
Once you’ve completed the dots place on a cookie sheet and slide into the oven at 350′ for 25 minutes.
Remove and let cool. Your paint should last on your glasses wash after wash after wash.
Enjoy!
