Now a days everything can be made in Mason jars and I absolutely love the simplicity of it. This year I decided to make up a few batches of Christmas M&M Cookie Mix in a Jar and they turned out amazing. With just a few household ingredients and a beautiful mason jar you’ll be set for giving the most perfect Christmas Gift to your loved ones this year.
The Holidays are my most favorite time of year and baking is a tradition that has been in my family forever. Lots of my friends and family love to bake but sometimes don’t know where to start! Well this year I’m making it easy and sharing one of my best recipes with all my loved ones! Just toss all the ingredients into a mason jar, close the lid and finish off with a gorgeous piece of pine needles! This is a gift that is sure to be a hit.
Christmas M&M Cookie Mix in a Jar
Ingredients
- 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/3 cups rolled oats
- 1/2 cup Christmas M&Ms;
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
Instructions
- NOTE: Layer the ingredients in a 1 quart jar in the order given. Press each layer firmly in place before adding the next layer.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Grease cookie sheets.
- In a medium bowl, mix together 1/2 cup melted butter or margarine, 1 egg, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla.
- Stir in the entire contents of the jar. You may need to use your hands to finish mixing.
- Shape into walnut sized balls. Place 2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheets.
- Bake for 11 to 13 minutes in the preheated oven.
- Transfer from cookie sheets to cool on wire racks.
