The nights are getting even colder which means Fall is coming very, very soon! Fall is definitely my favorite season and I’m so glad it’s coming up again and I get to enjoy it for the next few months! One of the best things about Fall is Halloween is coming up which means making lots of goodies with my kids at home. These Easy Pumpkin Cookies for so easy to make and I absolutely love that my kids were able to help out on the way.
These are perfect for Halloween and would make the perfect addition to any halloween parties you’re hosting or classroom events as well! How adorable are these?
Easy Pumpkin Cookies
Easy Pumpkin Cookies
Yields 20
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 Cups softened butter
- 1 1/2 Cups sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon Almond or vanilla extract
- 2 Eggs
- 4 1/2 Cups all-purpose flour
- Wilton green decorating icing
- Brown or green M&M;'s
- Black fondant
Instructions
- 1. Preheat your oven to 325° and line a baking sheet with a piece of parchment paper
- 2. Beat your softened butter and sugar together using a hand or stand mixer
- 3. Mix in your egg and vanilla extract
- 4. Now mix in your flour once cup at a time
- 5. Form your dough into a large ball then roll out (keep the dough rather thick) with a floured rolling pin on a lightly floured surface
- 6. Cut out your circles shape and place them onto your parchment paper lined baking pan
- 7. Bake for 10-12 minutes and let cool
- 8. Once cool, roll out your fondant between two sheets of parchment paper and use a pizza cutter or knife to cut out triangles and mouths for your pumpkins faces
- 9. Dab a little green icing on the face of your fondant and M&M;'s, then press onto the orange circle pumpkin
- 10. Now draw on a leaf with a long swirl with your green icing
