Whether you have a party coming up or you just love glitter as much as me you’re going to LOVE these glittered DIY utensils. I took some of my favorite wooden utensils and added my favorite color of gold glitter to make them pop and assembled them on my kitchen table for my entire family to use. I have to say this project was super easy and I’m so in love. Get creative and add any color glitter to make them coordinate with your party or event or use a subtle color like gold or silver to go with everyday decor. These definitely make meal time lots more fun and the kids will love them too.
For this project all your need are a set of Wooden Utensils and your favorite gold glitter. I used Martha Stewart’s Smokey Quartz Gold Glitter and it’s by far my favorite. I decided to do this project outdoors because although I’m a huge fan of glitter my husband isn’t to fond of finding it all over the home. Can you blame him? This project is so easy and I love that I could even let my 4 year old help out in the process. Take a your wooden utensils and generously apply modge podge using a brush to both sides of your utensil stopping at the top of the base. I did the front side and sides first followed by the back side. Once the modge podge was in place i pour a huge amount of glitter to be sure I’m covering every single spot on these utensils. Be sure to place a paper or plastic plate underneath you so you can easily pour the glitter back into the container. That’s it.
I set these up in sets of 3 which included fork, knife and spoon and tied them together with a pretty twine string to pull the set together. How beautiful did they turn out?
