Hot Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies

The nights are finally cold enough to start baking again. Baking is one of my favorite memories growing up and baking with my mom and now I get to do the same thing with my kids! Since it’s fall and the nights are cold it’s definitely a great time to start whipping up some delicious Hot Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies! These are delicious and will put a fun twist on any cookie exchanges you’re doing this year!

Ingredients
  • Cookies:
  • ½ cup softened Butter
  • ⅔ cup Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 tbsp Milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 cup Flour
  • ⅓ cup Cocoa Powder
  • Icing:
  • ½ cup softened Butter
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 3½ oz Marshmallow Creme
  • ¼ tsp Vanilla
Instructions
  1. Whisk together the flour and cocoa and set aside.
  2. Cream together butter and sugar in a large bowl.
  3. Beat in the egg milk and vanilla.
  4. Gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture and mix well.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour.
  6. Preheat oven to 350.
  7. Line baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone mat.
  8. Form into 1" balls and place about 2" apart on prepared sheet.
  9. Using your thumb, make an indentation in each ball.
  10. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until center is set.
  11. Allow cookies to cool.
  12. Cream butter and vanilla wih a mixer until fluffy.
  13. Gradually add in powdered sugar until incorporated.
  14. Fold in marshamllow creme.
  15. Transfer to piping bag with a round tip.
  16. Frost each cookie.
