I’ve been on the hunt for my dream car for the past year and having the opportunity to test drive all these brand new, fully loaded cars is a dream come true. When I got the email asking if I was up for reviewing the 2016 Mazda CX-9 I didn’t even hesitate before saying yes. I’ve loved this car since I first started looking for cars 6 years ago and wanted to see the things that have changed over the years. Being a family of 6 I have to think smart and make sure any car I buy has plenty of room for my entire family to ride around in. Well the Mazda didn’t disappoint! When this beauty first arrived at my house I was so excited. It was my favorite charcoal color and had gorgeous leather seats that we’re a dream to look at. It came with the 3rd row making it perfect for my family of 6 plus our extra items such as diaper bags, sporting equipment, school bags and more. I gave it a look around, played with the sunroof, preset my radio stations and looked at all the leg room the SUV had, it was perfect. Plenty of space in the front, plenty of space in the middle row and most importantly plenty of space in the back row for the older boys. I was able to fit myself, my husband, my 3 year old daughter, my 7 month old son, my 6 year old and my 7 year old plus our stroller and we were ready to head out. Not once was anyone complaining the other was touching them or they couldn’t move their legs.. this is a common issue we have with my current vehicle. Could the Mazda CX-9 be the car for my family?
Since I first started driving back when I was 16 I have always been in love with bigger cars. My very first car was a Toyota Tacoma and I loved it than when it was time for another car I looked at the Mazda CX-9 and didn’t feel I needed a 7 seater vehicle with just myself so I chose a different car. Now fast forward I’m still in love with this car as much as I was back than. She’s a beauty. The leather seats are amazing and comfortable plus the heated seats are hands down my favorite feature. Lately it’s been in the low 40’s in the morning for school drop off and they have been amazing to use. The easy to use screen is great and I love having the feature controls right near the shifter. I can easily change from FM radio to XM radio with one turn and clicks. AMAZING!
Now let’s talk about the features that are amazing for moms and dads. The lane departure warning…shifting a little to the right or left because you’re talking to the kids or distracted? The lane departure will beep at you letting you know you’re shifting and gets your eyes back on the road and your focus 100%. Another thing I love is the easy to use window shades in the backseats. It’s great to block out the sun from the little ones and than can easily be taken down in seconds. One final thing that wins me over every time is the ability to open the hatch by using the remote. So while my hands are full pushing a stroller and holding my 3 year olds hand and juggling my bags, with the press of one button I can open the hatch and put things away. DREAM COME TRUE!
This car is a dream! It’s been my dream for 10 years now and I loved having the opportunity to drive this baby around for a week! I was so excited to drive this car that I took it everywhere school drop offs, running errands, baseball practice, the beach, late night food runs and more. Are you loving the Mazda CX-9?
