As a family of 5 having enough space is always an important factor for our day to day lives. The 2014 Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring all wheel drive is the perfect SUV that is sleek and affordable. This SUV is providing you with 16 MPG for city driving and 24 MPG for highway driving and 5.6 gallons per 100 miles. After spending a full week driving around orange county, los angeles and the inland empire I was still left with plenty of gas to drive around town. Driving with children can sometimes be a very strenuous activity so having enough room to space out car seats is key to a good family drive. The Mazda CX-9 is equipped with 7 seats to fit even the biggest family. With reclining seats, plenty of leg room, high safety ratings and all the bells and whistles this may just be the family vehicle for you. Available in Zeal Red, Blue Reflex, Crystal White Pearl, Liquid Silver, Meteor Grey and Jet Black you’re sure to find a color you love. This particular model I drove was Blue Reflex with black interior leather seats, which was a great color combination.

The more cars I drive I’m realizing it’s not very standard anymore to have a car that requires a key to be placed in the ignition. This SUV had the Mazda advanced keyless entry and start system. In order to start the vehicle your “key” must be in the vehicle and there is already a faux key installed in the ignition. Starting the car is so easy and you no longer have to scatter through your purse looking for those missing keys. I am falling more and more in love with the keyless entry systems. The Mazda CX-9 is a perfect starter car and is ideal for larger families with room to grow. This car is mom approved.

5.9″ Color display Navigation System with rear camera: Parallel has never been one of my strong driving points but in my workplace there is always a need for it. The rear view camera is a great way to ensure you have enough room to park without having to worry about getting to close to another car. The very distinct yellow and red lines are your guide points that are 100% accurate. The Navigation system is so handy to have and I love being able to find my destination without having to look at a map or read directions I wrote down.

Blind Spot Monitoring: How many times have you tried to get in the next lane only to be honked at because you didn’t see that vehicle or motorcycle in your “blind spot”? The Blind spot monitoring will alert you every time a vehicle is on the side of you and you’re not allowed to get over. You will notice the bright orange lights in your side car mirrors and this is one of my favorite features.

Seating for 7 Comfortably: Having the 3rd row seat is such a luxury in any vehicle and using the 3rd row seat was so easy in the Mazda CX-9. The 3rd row seating had a 50/50 split and the 2nd row seating had a 60/40 split which makes getting into the very back so much easier. The 3rd row laid flat to be able to load more bigger items and with the 3rd row seating up right I still had plenty of room to put groceries or a few of the kids smaller toys.

Heated and Cooling leather seats: Must have for Summer or Winter and you’ll feel like your enjoying a day at the Spa. With 3 different levels of heat for your back and legs you’ll enjoy the soothing warmth during any long or short drive. The cooling seats give your body a nice refresher which is perfect for a hot summer day.

3rd Row seating laid down allows you so much room in the back to store groceries, luggage, kids toys, bikes or even family movie nights at the drive in.
