Natural Ways to Stay Healthy This Fall

September 25, 2016 by Brittany Leave a Comment

Nobody likes getting sick especially multiple times a year. As the weather gets cooler, germs and sickness become prominent. However, there are some natural ways you can keep your immune system up and healthy even as others around you are getting sick. Follow these natural ways to stay healthy this Fall!

Natural Ways to Stay Healthy This Fall

Get Enough Sleep Every Night

Not getting enough sleep lowers your body’s immune system. Instead of your body being able to fight off anything that enters the body, it is putting extra energy towards staying awake and keeping your system going. Getting enough sleep every night will help keep your immune system up, and ready to fight anything that comes its way.

Keep Hydrated with H2O

One of the ways your body detoxes itself from harmful toxins is through your liver and kidneys. Without plenty of water, your body can’t flush out toxins, germs, and other harmful things that can enter your body. Drink plenty of water to keep your body hydrated, balanced, and healthy.

Increase Your Vitamin C

Vitamin C is the main vitamin that fights off infections and increases your immune system by working with white blood cells to combat foreign germs. You can increase your vitamin C in several ways including:

  • A vitamin C supplement
  • Taking a multivitamin
  • Drinking orange juice
  • Eating plenty of fruits and veggies
  • Drinking fresh lemon and honey

Exercise Regularly

Research has proven that regular exercise increases your immune system and actually keeps you from getting sick as often. Even exercising 10 minutes a day will increase your chances of fighting off colds and flu.

Think about Your Digestive System

Did you know your digestive system is about 70% of your immune system? This means it is crucial to keep your digestive tract healthy by increasing your probiotics. Probiotics are the good bacteria that live in your intestines and help maintain a healthy body. Lactobacillus acidophilus is the main probiotic to aid in your digestive system and can be found in fresh yogurt! That means you need to eat up on siggi’s yogurt throughout the week. Here are just a few of the benefits siggi’s yogurt can offer:

  • Siggi’s yogurt is strained which means it has a lot of protein.
  • Siggi’s yogurt is made with natural ingredients and has 25% less sugar than other brands.
  • Siggi’s yogurt contains no high fructose corn syrup, is made with milk from grass-fed cows, and is non-GMO verified.
  • It’s a simple, natural, healthy snack that offers you probiotics, protein and essential nutrients to maintain a healthy digestive system.

What other ways do you keep yourself healthy during cold and flu season? Share your health tips in the comments below!
