When it comes to breakfast in the morning, we’re always in a hurry. My husband is heading off to work and I’m getting 3 kids around and one has to be dropped off at school. It’s safe to say that our morning are pretty hectic. I used to skip breakfast because I didn’t have enough time to eat and I’d often forget about it. I didn’t skip because I was wanting to, just because I was in a hurry. This year I’ve made a huge decision to make sure I’m eating breakfast, so I came up with some solutions to my in a hurry mornings. Plus keep reading to find out how to make my favorite Raspberry Strawberry Breakfast Smoothie.
Pack it the Night Before
One thing that has made eating breakfast a lot easier is by packing it the night before. Sometimes I’ll put something in my car that won’t spoil. It’s not exactly cold right now in SoCal. Anything that can be left overnight and stay warm works for me.
Fresh Fruit is Always a Winner
Another quick breakfast that works for me is fresh fruit. I try to keep a variety on hand though because I know an apple isn’t going to fill me up in the morning. I try to grab a few oranges and a banana or an apple and a banana. Fruit is always great in the morning and wakes me right up.
A Fresh Smoothie
I know I love fruits in the morning, but it’s always nice to switch things up when I can. One way I’m doing that is by making fresh smoothies a few times a week. Raspberry Strawberry Breakfast Smoothie is definitely my go to whenever I need something yummy in the morning. It’s tangy, but sweet, and very delicious. We love using Fairlife Milk in our smoothies! Such a delicious addition to our morning routine. From time to time we switch it up and use Simply Orange and Odwalla Smoothies in our smoothies as well.
Raspberry Strawberry Breakfast Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1/2 C. fresh strawberries, cut in half
- 1/2 C. fresh rasberries, cut in half
- 6 oz plain or greek yogurt
- 1/4 C. of Fairlife milk
Instructions
- Place the cut up fruit into a small sandwich baggie and place in the freezer for 1-2 hours. If planning ahead, I like to make up several baggies and have them ready to go whenever the kids ask for a smoothie.
- Remove the fruit from the freezer and put into a blender or food processor.
- Add in the yogurt and milk and blend together.
- If the smoothie seems really thick, add a small amount of milk at a time and blend until it's reached your desired consistency.
- Serve.
- *Makes approximately (2) 8 oz servings.
