My daughter has always been a picky eater. From the moment she was born to her toddler years, she has given me trouble with eating. I have a few tricks up my sleeve to help her become a better eater, for my sanity and hers. Check out these tips for helping little ones become better eaters.
Tips for Helping Little Ones Eat
Offer a variety from the start.
A lot of parents get stuck in a rut and they keep feeding their little ones the same thing over and over again. Don’t give up on giving your child variety. They need to taste many different foods in their lifetime. Think of it as a gift that you’re giving them!
Let them feed themselves.
There comes a point where you have to give in and let your kid figure out how to eat for themselves. This is always one of my favorite times because kids can get so messy while eating. However, when they are able to feel the texture of the food and taste it on their own, I think this helps create a love for food in them.
Offer snacks they’ll love.
Of course, one of the most important steps to helping your little ones learn to eat is offering them snacks they’ll love. While you need to offer them a variety of foods, you also need to help them find a few snacks you can fall back on. My family and I are huge snackers, so when I walked into Target the other day and saw Gerber Lil’ Beanies(TM) I was super excited. Guys, this has changed the snacking experience for my toddler and I. She has NO problem eating Lil’ Beanies(TM), not at all. These are super easy to find and I discovered them while walking down the baby aisle at Target.
I encourage you to head to your local Target and grab Lil’ Beanies(TM) to help make your life a little easier in the snacking and eating department (toddler approved)!
