Tips for Prepping Your House for Summer

My favorite season is rounding the bend and I couldn’t be more excited. Most of us spend some time prepping our homes for summer and getting things ready for the warmer months ahead. If you’re like me, then you will want to follow these tips for prepping your house for summer.

Displaying Fresh Flowers in your home During the spring and summer months I love to have fresh flowers all around my home! The smell and appearance of them when I walk into my home is just something I love! It’s not always easy to keep them looking fresh for so long but I found out a little secret tip that has been a total game changer. To keep flowers looking fresher longer, add ¼ teaspoon Clorox® Regular-Bleach into each quart of cold water! Now that’s a tip you can use year round.

Bring out the lawn furniture When it comes to prepping your house for summer, don’t forget to bring out the lawn furniture. One of my favorite things to do in the summer is sit out on the patio and watch the kids play and swim! I like to use Clorox® Regular-Bleach2 to help clean off the patio furniture after it’s been in storage for a few months, because we all know how dirty that stuff can get!

Wipe down the kitchen For some reason, I get this great urge to clean my house when spring rolls around to help prepare for summer. I want to get rid of all the yucky germs that have been building up. I like to wipe down the walls, floors, countertops and anything else I can get my hands on. You can use bleach to sanitize your kitchen! All you need to do is mix ½ cup of bleach with 1 gallon of water and you have the right mixture. I have noticed my house stays cleaner longer because I take the time to sanitize and get rid of this disgusting germs that lurk around.

Don’t forget the bathroom Prepping your house for summer means giving that bathroom a good cleaning. My family will be at our house a lot this summer, using our bathroom. I want to make sure it’s in tip top shape and looking as good as possible. I use bleach to clean behind the toilet and in just about every other crevice I can (Note: you can use the same bleach mixture here too). I can’t tell you how gross bathrooms get with boys. However, if you have several boys in your house, I’m sure you understand.

With the versatility of bleach, you can use it all around your home to clean and sanitize. Prepping your home to ensure it is ready for summer is a great idea. Cleaning the inside and outside of your home is easy when you have Clorox® Regular-Bleach2 in your hands!
