So we’ve been in our new home for the past 2 weeks already and I’m trying to fix up as many things as I can on a budget. One day I hope to eventually update all of our bathrooms but right now it’s just not in the budget. The Master Bathroom already got a fun Faux Marble Vanity update and now it’s time to give the existing dated knobs a makeover. I grabbed a can of my favorite Rustoleum Oil Rubbed Bronze Spray Paint and gave the knobs a budget friendly makeover that made a Huge difference.
What you need:
- Old Knobs
- Rust-Oleum Oil Rubbed Bronze Spray Paint (Purchase here)
- Box or flat surface for spraying
- Screwdriver
This is one of those easy weekend projects that makes a huge difference in a matter of minutes. I absolutely love projects like this. Grab your screwdriver and remove the existing knobs from your cabinets and drawers. Set up a box outdoors and place your knobs upside down. Grab your can of spray paint and give it a quick coat around the base and bottom. Allow to dry for 2-3 minutes and than give it another quick coat and allow to dry for 15 minutes in the sun. Once they’re dried just flip them over and it’s time to do the tops. Spray an even coat over the top and allow to dry for 2 minutes. Apply another coat ensuring you’re covering all areas and allow to dry for 15 minutes in the sun again. Once they’re dry gather them all up and start placing them back on the cabinets and drawers. This was an instant update in my bathroom and best of all it didn’t cost me a penny.
[…] Spray Painting Knobs - Our home came with the ugliest door and drawer pulls that were a mix of a beige white and a gold overlay design. The knobs made the home look even more dated and they just didn’t go with our decor. Knobs can become very expensive especially when you’re trying to replace a whole home full of them. I took out my favorite Rustoleum Oil Rubbed Bronze Spray Paint and gave them an instant update that made a huge difference. Most of the furniture in our home is black so having darker knobs is ideal for our home and would go perfect with so many homes. See my before and after as well as my tutorials here. […]
