Voluntary insurance with Aflac

This post is sponsored by Aflac. I was compensated for writing it, but all opinions are 100% mine.

It’s no secret that I’m a working mama of three. My household depends on my job, just as much as we do my husbands. We work hard to pay our bills on a monthly basis. It’s kind of scary to think of what could happen to our world if we are not prepared. Well, now is the time for us to get prepared. I’ve seen the Aflac commercials on television, but decided to finally take it serious.

Voluntary insurance isn’t something that crosses our minds on a daily basis, until we need it. Right? The same goes for our household. We live life thinking that nothing could go wrong. However, that’s totally not true. None of us are safe from “Murphy” (the guy who likes to show up at your doorstep unexpected).

Not only should people with families be worried about voluntary insurance, but so should millennials. If you’re hurt on the job and need financial support, that’s where voluntary insurance comes in! Voluntary insurance isn’t as complicated as you think.

With all of this being said, it’s important to do your own benefits research. Know what your benefits provide and consist of, this will help you make better choices for you and your family. For example- your current insurance may not have disability insurance, and that’s where voluntary insurance will come into play. Start prepping for your future by researching your current benefits and then opting for voluntary insurance when your current plan falls short.

Voluntary insurance can do the following for any household-

  • If you become disabled or have a serious illness, voluntary insurance becomes a key component to your healthcare. (There’s more to being sick than just paying hospital bills, your house bills will also need paid).
  • Voluntary insurance can help you deal with those high unexpected hospital bills. This high out of pocket costs that insurance does NOT cover, is coverable with voluntary insurance.
  • Voluntary insurance can help cover household benefits like childcare, groceries, and even lodging.
