Ways to Stay Healthy as the Season Changes

September 13, 2016 by Brittany Leave a Comment

I’m sharing #Ricola in my life as part of a Ricola sponsored series for Socialstars™.

As the season’s change from warm weather to cooler nights and days, your immune system can wonder what is going on. Top that with the business of life as there becomes more to do in fall, staying healthy can become a challenge. However, there are some ways you can stay healthy as the season changes.

Exercise Regularly

Exercise is a proven way to increase your immune system. Not only is it a great way to get your systems working, but it is a great way to decrease the seasonal blues that come with shorter days and lack of sunlight. Start a new exercise routine, or continue your previous routine.

Wash Your Hands often

Pesky little germs aren’t noticeable to the human eye. When you shake a hand, take money from someone, or transfer an item from one person to the next, you run the risk of transferring sickness causing germs. Wash your hands before you eat, after you use the bathroom and a few times throughout the day. If you have hand sanitizer, now is a good time to start using it often.

Get Enough Sleep Each Night

Lack of needed sleep lowers your immune system. This is because not only is your brain tired, but all components of your body are tired and feel less motivated to fight against infection. Try to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep each night to keep your immune system healthy.

Eat a Balanced Diet Everyday

Like anything else, not eating right makes it harder for your body to fight the infection that is being passed around. Eat a balanced diet of fresh fruits and vegetables high in vitamin C, B6, and immune boosting vitamins. The better you eat, the easier your body can attack those nasty germs.

Go Outside for Fresh Air

It is easier for us to get sick when the weather gets cooler because the germs are trapped inside the house with nowhere to go, but your body. Going outside and breathing in the fresh air detoxifies us and exercises our internal organs helping to prevent us from getting sick. Likewise, open the windows and air out your house as often as you can.

Harness the Power of Herbs with Ricola Herbal Immunity

Ricola immunity is the perfect blend of herbs, ginseng, vitamins B6, B12, and C. Each of these vitamins boosts your immunity and helps you to fight fatigue. The new Ricola Herbal Immunity helps you to stay healthy and gives you the power to stay on your “A game.” Made in Switzerland, the new Ricola Herbal Immunity is available in two varieties: Ricola Herbal Immunity Honey Herb Lozenges and Ricola Herbal Immunity Citrus Herb Lozenges. You can find them at CVS, Walgreens, and Rite-Aid nationwide.

When it comes to the season’s changing, you don’t have to change with the weather. Keep yourself healthy this fall! What other tips do you have for staying healthy? Share them with other readers in the comments below!
