What’s Your Saturday Morning Movie Routine?

July 7, 2016 by Brittany Leave a Comment

“This is a sponsored post by General Mills. All opinions are my own.”

Our family loves movies, and since we love movies, we always schedule the first of our Saturday morning to either go to a movie or rent one. This Saturday, July 8th, we are going to see The Secret Life of Pets! We are super stoked about it because we have been waiting all summer to see it. Now, because we watch a lot of movies, we have a routine that happens pretty much every Saturday!

Eat Breakfast

We get up around 8am and eat breakfast. However, breakfast has to be quick so we can spend the rest of our morning enjoying a movie. That is why we love General Mills cereals. Not only is it quick and easy to make, but they are a nutritious selection for us to eat!

  • Regular Cheerios: Gluten free and made with whole grain oats
  • Multi-Grain Cheerios: Fiber rich, Gluten free, and 5 whole grains
  • Honey Nut Cheerios: Made with whole grain oats and enriched in vitamin E.

Dress in Lounge Wear

We could just get up and go in our PJs, but we want to at least look like we attempted the day. So, we find our most comfortable lounge clothes. Of course, we pre-bought these because if we are going to have a Saturday morning movie we should have something to wear.

Pack our Snacks

Most theaters don’t typically let you bring your own snacks in, but if you can get them in, General Mills Cocoa Puffs, Lucky Charms, and Trix make great snacks. We pack our snacks into small Ziploc bags. From chips and cereal to chocolate and popcorn, we stuff it into our purses. If we can’t eat them in the theater, we have a nice snack after the movie to enjoy.

Head to the Theater

We usually always know what we are going to watch, but sometimes we like to wing it. If we don’t go to the theater, we all visit the Red Box together to pick out a movie (or several) for our morning movie routine. Our family is so excited about The Secret Life of a Pet. Here are a few reasons we can’t wait to see it:

  • We have pets and are curious what they may be doing while we are gone!
  • It is family friendly. We can all enjoy this movie together.
  • It is sure to be funny. Our family loves comedy and this movie is one that will have us laughing all day.
