Healthy Eating Tips to kick off the new year

It’s a New Year and my husband and I are working hard on improving our lifestyle. We’re busy chasing around three younger children, so it’s not likely that we’ll be perfect all of the time. However, we are really stressing the importance of healthy eating. I also want to make this journey fun and not monotonous. With that being said, here are some of my Healthy Eating Tips to kick off the new year.

Eat Enough

One reason people fail at healthy eating is because they are not eating enough. Your body needs food to survive. The only thing is that you need good food and not junk all of the time. I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s okay to splurge on your favorite treat every once in a while, but you do not need to eat unhealthy at every meal.

Use Quality Products

Another way we’re starting to eat healthy is by using products that are healthy and are made with quality. We’re using awesome products like Simply Orange, Fairlife Milk, and Odwalla Smoothies. We are in love with the Simply Orange, it’s something we use every day! The Fairlife Milk is a staple in our household. And everyone is in love with the Odwalla Smoothies, such an easy and healthy choice on the go.

Think Before You Shop

Another healthy eating tip is thinking before you shop. Don’t go to the store without a plan. We shop at Albertsons/Safeway to get our healthy products like Simply Orange, Fairlife Milk, and Odwalla Smoothies. Of course, I also make sure I buy lots of healthy meats, fruits, and veggies to incorporate into our diets on a daily basis. I always make out a list before I grocery shop.

Healthy Berry Smoothie 1

Tonight I’m so excited to be sharing with you all a delicious, healthy Smoothie using our favorite Simply Orange Juice. I added in my favorites such as bananas, strawberries, and blueberries and it turned out delicious.  Best of all the kids are in love with it! Now make sure to stop by your local Albertsons or Safeway to purchase your own Simply Orange to use in your next smoothie.

Healthy Berry Smoothie

  • 5 Cups Simply Orange
  • 1 Cup Frozen Blueberries
  • 2 Cups Frozen Strawberries
  • 1 Whole Banana
  • 4 Cups Ice Cubes

In a large blender, add ice cubes, blue berries, strawberries, banana and Simply Juice. Blend the mixture adding small amounts of orange juice until desired consistency is reached. Makes enough for approximately 9 cups.
