I’m a mom of four and that means time is short. I don’t always have time to catch a break as a mom. In fact, it’s quite hard. However, as a mom, I realize my sanity is at stake if I don’t some sort of break. Over the years, especially recently, I have perfected the mom break. Here’s how to catch a quick mom break.

#1. Wake up 15 minutes earlier than the kids.

I have found that my kids wake up around the same time every day. I started waking up just 15 minutes before them. I can get in the shower quick or just have time to breath before they wake up. It helps me set the tone for the rest of the day.

#2. Head to the bathroom.

Hey, if your kids are old enough, the bathroom is sometimes the only place in the house to catch a break. You don’t have to go to the bathroom, just spend some time catching your breath and preparing for the rest of the day.

#3. Take a quick nap.

I’m lucky that I have some kids in school and the other kids still nap. A quick power nap can do a lot for the soul and it’s a great way to catch a quick mom break. Napping is a favorite of mine.

#4. Eat your favorite snack.
